SPEAKER_00:

Grace and Assurance. In this episode of Mighty Moment, we continue our 31-day journey, looking at the best of the best scriptures from the Bible. These are awesome passages that you'll want to remember. These are 88 of my personal favorite passages from the Bible, my top 101 verses. The total list of verses is not in any particular order, but the pairings of three for each episode loosely tied together around a theme. But each verse is independently worth memorizing. Contact Mighty Moment if you'd like a copy of my best of the best list. In a world where uncertainty abounds, God's word offers grace that cannot be earned and assurance that cannot be shaken. In this episode, we look at three powerful scriptures that remind us of the unmerited favor of salvation, the complete forgiveness of sins, and God's unwavering ability to keep us from falling. This devotional will lead you into a deeper understanding of the hope, peace, and confidence found in God's grace. The Christian walk begins with grace and ends with eternal assurance. Today we will explore three powerful truths. We are saved by grace through faith, Ephesians 2, 8 and 9. Our sins are remembered no more, Hebrews 8 12, and God is able to keep us from stumbling, Jude 1 24. Let your heart be stirred by the unshakable promises of God's grace. Verses 88 and 89 in our list is Ephesians 2, 8 and 9. Grace is the gift, not the reward. Reading from the New King James Version, for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. And the New International Version adds, not by works, so that no one can boast. The New American Standard Version reads, For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Let's read the verse from a few other versions. For it is by God's grace that you have been saved through faith. It is not the result of your own efforts, but God's gift, so that no one can boast about it. The Passion translation reads, For by grace you have been saved by faith. Nothing you did could ever earn this salvation. For it was the love gift from God that brought us to Christ. So no one will ever be able to boast, for salvation is never a reward for good works or human striving. The message version reads, Saving is all his idea and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It's God's gift from start to finish. We don't play the major role. If we did, we'd probably go around bragging that we had done the whole thing. The very definition of grace is unmerited favor. We did nothing to deserve or earn God's love, attention, grace, and salvation. I remember back in the day it was quite common to receive unsolicited phone calls telling you that you'd want a free vacation. When I was younger and I'd just gotten married, I received one of those calls and was so excited that I was going to take my new bride on a vacation. After speaking for a few minutes, it became clear that this free vacation was actually going to cost me money for processing fees. It was a scam. We live in a jaded society where there is no free lunch. Seems like everyone has an angle. Not with God. He is motivated out of love and does not have an angle, except his desire that we live and live more abundantly. We cannot do anything to earn salvation. It's already paid for. Our part is to accept it and allow God to change us from the inside out. Salvation is not a trade or a transaction. It is a generous act of divine mercy. Grace initiates, faith receives, and God gets the glory. Our role is to receive, not to achieve. The Christian security is grounded in God's generosity, not human effort. Ephesians 2, 8 and 9 make it clear, salvation is God's initiative from beginning to end. Verse number 90 on our list is Hebrews 8 12. God's forgiveness wipes the slate clean. Reading from the New King James Version, for I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more. The New International Version uses the word wickedness, that God will remember it no more. The New American Standard Version says wrongdoings, and their sins I will no longer remember. The Good News Bible says, I will forgive their sins and will no longer remember their wrongs. The Passion Translation says, For I will demonstrate my mercy to them and will forgive their evil deeds, and never remember again their sins. The message version reads, They'll get to know me by being kindly forgiven, with the slate of their sins forever wiped clean. Have you ever done anything wrong to a friend and then ask their forgiveness? And they forgive you. But then every time you get into an argument with them from then on, they bring it back up. You see, they say they forgave you, but actually they're keeping score, and they're using it as ammunition against you. Not God. He chooses to forget. And when we come to him, we need not be ashamed or wonder if it's going to affect how he treats us. Because he promises for it to not impact his love and care for us. God's forgiveness is total and intentional. He chooses to release us from the penalty and memory of our sins, inviting us to live in freedom and confidence. God's forgiveness is not partial or reluctant. He chooses, by his will, to never again bring our sins to account. This is not amnesia, is divine mercy in action. The Christian application points for this verse are many. Embrace God's complete forgiveness. Let go of guilt. Forgive others as God has forgiven you. Extend mercy to others as you've received it. Live with hope. Knowing your past does not define you. Accept that your sins are fully forgiven through Christ. Stop rehearsing what God has already forgotten. Celebrate new beginnings each day in Christ. Live boldly in your new identity, not your past mistakes. Hebrews 8 12 assures us that God's forgiveness is absolute. He does not keep a record of our failures, but welcomes us into a relationship defined by mercy and grace. God chooses not to remember our sins because they have been dealt with at the cross. For the believer, this brings assurance that guilt no longer has a grip on our lives. Verse 91 on our list is Jude 124. Through God's power we can be kept from falling. God is able to keep you standing strong. Reading from the New King James Version, now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy. The New American Standard Version reads, Now to Him who is able to protect you from stumbling and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy. The Good News Bible reads, To Him who is able to keep you from falling and to bring you faultless and joyful before His glorious presence. The Passion translation reads, Now to the one with enough power to prevent you from stumbling into sin, and bring you faultless before his glorious presence, to stand before him with ecstatic delight. The message version reads, And now to him who can keep you on your feet, standing tall in his bright presence, fresh and celebrating. And lastly in the living Bible, and he is able to keep you from slipping and falling away, and to bring you sinless and perfect into his glorious presence with mighty shouts of everlasting joy. To those who think it is impossible, here is a promise that it is not. God, the Almighty God, is on our side. His power is available to us. Tapping into that power can give us strength and victory over the enemy. Not in our own power, mind you, but in his. We are presented faultless, but that does not mean we are. In fact, the Bible reminds us that all of us are sinners, and we are pretty dirty when it comes to sin. Filthy even. But in Christ's grace, we can be presented as blameless, perfect, clean in the blood of Jesus. The judge does not see our faults, but sees us as righteous. I really like the last part of the verse in that Christ presents us with great joy. He is so excited we are getting cleaned up, and it's his honor and privilege to see our transformation. He is truly happy for us, ecstatic even. As any parent can tell you, the joy of seeing their child succeed. God is not only the initiator of salvation, he is also the sustainer. He actively guards us, ensuring we reach our destination blameless and joyful. This is a promise of God's sustaining power. Our assurance is not in our ability to stand, but in God's ability to keep us standing. Jude 124 is a great declaration of spiritual security. God not only saves us, he keeps us from falling, and ensures we stand in His glory. His power preserves us, and His joy surrounds us. In conclusion, grace is the thread that weaves through Ephesians 28 and 9, Hebrews 8:12, and Jude 124. We are saved by grace, forgiven by grace, and kept by grace. God's love is not a fleeting feeling, but a steadfast commitment to rescue, restore, and sustain us. God's grace is not just a past event, it's a present reality and a future promise. Ephesians 2 8 and 9 assures us that we are saved entirely by grace through faith, not by works. We have nothing to boast in but everything to rejoice over. Grace is God's gift to us, unearned and unshakable. Hebrews 8 12 and Jude 124 build on this foundation, giving us the assurance that our sins are not only forgiven, they are forgotten. And as we walk this life of faith, Jude 124 reminds us that God will keep us from stumbling, and present us faultless in His presence. Grace secures our salvation, and assurance seals our hope. As you reflect on these truths, let your heart rest in the assurance that God's work in you is complete, His forgiveness is total, and His power is enough. Walk in freedom, hope, and joy, knowing you're held by the unbreakable grace of God. Friends, in our next episode, What God Wants, we will continue our look at the best of the best 88 Bible Scripture passages by looking at Numbers 92 in my top 101 favorite verses. I hope you've enjoyed our time together, and I pray you have a mighty moment with God today. Be blessed.
