SPEAKER_00:

God's Work in Believers. In this episode of Mighty Moment, we're on day 27 of our month-long journey looking at the best of the best scriptures from the Bible. We're exploring 88 of my most beloved passages from the Bible, my top 101 verses. I'm not going through the list in any particular order, as all the verses are wonderful. In each episode, I'm taking three verses and presenting them around a common theme. Contact Mighty Moment if you'd like a copy of my best of the best list. In this episode, we'll journey through three powerful verses, Romans 8.28, Romans 12 2, and Philippians 1 6, to discover God's ongoing, purposeful work in every believer's life. Each passage reveals a unique aspect of God's grace-filled activity, his providence, his transforming power, and his faithful commitment to complete what he began in each of us. God is never idle in the lives of his children. God orchestrates all things for our good, transforms us daily by renewing our minds, and will complete the good work he began in us. Let's explore how these truths empower us to trust, grow, and walk confidently in His love. eighty-five on our list is Romans 828. And we know that all things work together for good, to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. The New International Version reads, And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. The Good News Bible reads, We know that in all things God works for good with those who love him, those whom he is called according to His purpose. The Passion translation reads, So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together for good, for we are His lovers, who have been called to fulfill His designed purpose. And the message Bible reads, That's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good. And the Living Bible reads, and we know that all that happened to us is working for our good, if we love God and are fitting into His plans. In the Amplified Bible, and we know with great confidence that God, who is deeply concerned about us, causes all things to work together as a plan, for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose. And lastly, in the Clear Word Bible, we know that God will make everything that happens to us in this life come out to our eventual good, as long as we trust Him and remain true to the purpose for which He called us. The Apostle Paul here is confident as he speaks, because he has experienced what he's talking about. Looking back in his life, he has seen the hand of the Lord at work. Even at times when it seemed dark and daunting, God was working. So we can live confidently that God is overseeing our lives. We are not just randomly bouncing around. We are being guided on a journey with purpose. God is watching over us and directing our paths. No matter how bad the situation looks or is, God is working, and we can have confidence that God is going to work behind the scenes to ensure it all works out for our good and our benefit. He is there with us through the hard times, the painful times, and the good times, forming us and growing us and fulfilling His purpose through us. Even when the devil seems like he is winning, he is not. God is ultimate, and even if we endure troublesome times here on earth, Jesus has secured the ultimate victory, eternal life. This world is not our home. We are just passing through. As God guides my life here, he is turning lemons into lemonade. But way beyond, that is the perspective that is nothing that can happen to me on this earth to stop my destiny of being with God forever in heaven. Romans 8 28 anchors us in the assurance that God is sovereignly orchestrating all things for the good of those who love Him. Reading from the New King James Version, and do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. The New International Version reads, Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is, His good, pleasing, and perfect will. The Good News Bible reads, Do not conform yourselves to the standards of this world, but let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind. Then you will be able to know the will of God, what is good and is pleasing to Him and is perfect. The Passion translation reads, Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit, through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God's will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in His eyes. The message version reads, Don't become so well adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out, readily recognize what He wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. We are receiving stimuli constantly through all different kinds of places to conform to the world. Through media, advertising, news, music, movies, reels. But God is calling us to something different. He's calling us to a transformation. Rather than fitting into the box the world wants to shove you into, God wants to remake you from the inside out. It is quite similar to the prayer of David when he asked God to create in him a clean heart and renew a right spirit within him. We need a reboot, a new operating system. We need to wipe clean the confusion of our mind and replant wholesome, good, and clean thoughts from the Lord. The verb renewing indicates to me that this is an everyday, daily, ongoing process. God will be working on my mind. As the world will never stop trying to form and conform me into its mold, we must never tire of resisting and allowing God to transform us. Number eighty-seven on our list is Philippians 1.6. God's faithful commitment to finish what he started. Reading from the New King James Version, being confident of this very thing, that he who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. The New International Version reads, Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. And the Good News Bible reads, And so I am sure that God, who began this good work in you, will carry it on until it is finished on the day of Christ Jesus. The Passion translation reads, I pray with great faith for you, because I'm fully convinced that the one who began this gracious work in you will faithfully continue the process of maturing you until the unveiling of our Lord Jesus Christ. The message version reads There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears. And lastly, in the living Bible, and I am sure that God who began the good work within you will keep right on helping you grow in His grace until His task within you is finally finished, on that day when Jesus Christ returns. Have you ever started a project to only not finish it? Unfortunately, I have a long list of projects and endeavors that I've started and never finished. Fads, whims, or passions that waned. God is not like that. He finishes what he starts. This verse is a promise to stick to it until it's completed. God is committed to transforming and changing us into something better, his image. This is a promise that he will keep working until it is done. He is not going to stop. He is not going to give up on us. He is tenaciously working on us. God is not done with me yet. There is more work to do. There is hope as God is committed to continually working on my life to bring me into alignment with his purpose and character. Notice that it is God who is doing the working. God is transforming me from the inside out. Philippians 1 6 assures us that God, who began the work of grace in us, will not abandon it. He is committed to bringing it to full completion in Christ. God never abandons what he starts. If he began the work of salvation in you, he will faithfully see it through to completion. In conclusion, God's work in believers is a picture of grace, purpose, and hope. Romans 8 28 reminds us that God orchestrates every detail for our good and his purpose. Romans 12 2 challenges us to resist conformity to the world and embrace transformation through the renewing of our minds. And Philippians 1 6 assures us that the good work God began in us will be brought to a completion in Christ Jesus. Together, these verses reveal a God who is sovereign in our circumstances, present in our transformation, and faithful to finish his work. No matter where you are in your journey, you can trust that God's loving hands are shaping your life for his glory and your ultimate good. Let these truths fill you with hope, courage, and confidence as you walk with Christ each day. Friends, in our next episode, Grace and Assurance, we will continue our look at the best of the best 88 Bible Scripture passages by looking at Numbers 88, 89, 90, and 91 in my top 101 favorite verses. We'll explore Ephesians 2, 8 and 9, Hebrews 8, 12, and Jude 1.24. I hope you've enjoyed our time together, and I pray you have a mighty moment with God today. Be blessed.
