Speaker 3:

God's Unfailing Word. In this episode of Mighty Moment we continue our 31-day journey looking at the best of the best scriptures from the Bible. These are awesome passages that you'll want to remember. These are 88 of my personal favorite passages from the Bible, my top 101 Bible verses. The total list of verses is not in any particular order, but the pairings for each episode loosely tie together around a theme, but each verse is independently worth memorizing. Contact Mighty Moment if you'd like a copy of my best of the best list. In this episode we look at Isaiah 55.11, matthew 24.35, and 2 Peter 3.9.

Speaker 3:

God's Word is not like human speech—fragile, fickle or forgotten. Scripture declares that His Word accomplishes what he intends, endures beyond creation itself and reveals a patient heart longing for all to come to repentance. This episode, god's Unfailing Word, explores these truths in depth, offering hope and encouragement for every believer. Number 65 in our list is Isaiah 55, verse 11, the promise of everlasting joy, reading from the New King James Version so shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth. It shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish what I please and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. In the New International Version it reads so is my word that goes out of my mouth. It shall not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. And in the New American Standard Version it reads so will my word be which goes out of my mouth. It will not return to me empty without accomplishing what I desire and without succeeding in the purpose for which I sent it. The Good News Bible reads so also will be the word that I speak. It will not fail to do what I plan for it. It will do everything I send it to do. The Passion Translation reads so also will be the word that I speak. It does not return to me unfulfilled. My word performs my purpose and fulfills the mission I sent it out to accomplish. And lastly, in the Living Bible, so also is my word. I send it out and it always produces fruit. It shall accomplish all I want it to and prosper everywhere I send it.

Speaker 3:

The word of the Lord is powerful and it always accomplishes whatever it declares. It is unstoppable. We can depend on whatever the Lord says. If God says it, then we can believe it. If God says it, then we can believe it. It's going to happen. No one or nothing can stop God from doing what he will. This truth has powerful implications. That means that no enemy is strong enough to stop God or interrupt God, or no one or nothing can snatch us out of God's hand. We are secure and our destiny is secure, and we can depend on the promises of God that they will be a reality.

Speaker 3:

Imagine a letter sent with hope across a great distance. The sender waits, trusting it will reach its destination and accomplish its purpose, perhaps reconciling a relationship or delivering vital news. God's Word is like that letter, but with a guarantee it never gets lost, never fails to deliver and always brings about what God intends. It's not going to get lost in the spam folder. Our faith rests in the certainty that God's Word will never return empty.

Speaker 3:

I live in the desert. When I lived out east I frankly took rain for granted. Since it happened all the time. But when we receive rain here in the desert, it's special. Rain falling on parched land is a vivid picture of God's Word. The water soaks in and transforms the land. The rain nourishes and restores the earth, enabling it to bring forth vegetation. God's Word nourishes our souls, enabling us to bear spiritual fruit. God's Word makes a difference in our lives. Difference in our lives just like rain in the desert. Isaiah 55, 11 reminds us that God's Word is never powerless or wasted, like rain that brings life to the earth. His promises and truth accomplish what he desires. We can trust that every word he speaks will prosper in its intended purpose, bringing hope and transformation to all who receive it.

Speaker 3:

Number 66 on our list is Matthew 24, 35. God's word endures when all else fades. Reading from the New King James Version Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away. The New International Version reads Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. The Passion Translation reads the earth and sky will wear out and fade away before one word I speak loses its power or fails to accomplish my purpose. The Message Version reads Sky and earth will wear out. My words won't wear out. The Living Bible reads Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words remain forever. And the Amplified Bible Heaven and earth, as now known, will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

Speaker 3:

Old Faithful, a renowned geyser in Yellowstone National Park, is celebrated for its remarkable consistency, erupting every 44 to 118 minutes and shooting thousands of gallons of boiling water over a hundred feet into the air, a spectacle that has drawn visitors for generations and inspired its name. It's been erupting faithfully for hundreds of years. This dependable natural wonder offers a vivid spiritual analogy to Matthew 24, 35, where Jesus declares Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. Just as Old Faithful's eruptions can be counted on, regardless of who is watching or how long one waits, so too is God's Word unwavering and reliable, outlasting even the seemingly permanent features of the world around us. Old faithful's enduring regularity mirrors the eternal faithfulness of Christ's promises. While the earth and even the geyser itself may someday change or cease, the words of Jesus remain steadfast, offering hope and certainty. In a world marked by change and impermanence, you can depend and rely on the Lord, like old faithful. God will never let you down. Imagine a lighthouse standing firm against the relentless waves and storms of the sea. Though the ocean's tides rise and fall, the lighthouse remains steadfast, guiding ships safely to shore. Similarly, in Matthew 24.35, jesus reminds us that God's Word serves as an unwavering beacon in the ever-changing circumstances of life. Number 67 on our list is 2 Peter 3.9, god's patient promise and heart for all Reading from the New King James Version the Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Speaker 3:

The New International Version reads the Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. And the Good News Bible reads perspective the Lord is not late with His promise to return as some measure lateness, but rather His delay simply reveals His loving patience toward you because he does not want any to perish, but all to come to repentance. The Message Version reads God isn't late with His promise as some measure lateness. He is restraining himself on account of you holding back the end because he doesn't want anyone lost. He is giving everyone space and time to change and lastly, the Living Bible. He isn't really being slow about His promised return, even though it sometimes seems that way, but he is waiting for the good reason that he is not willing that any should perish and he is giving more time for sinners to repent.

Speaker 3:

Have you been lied to? It's hard to trust people when you've been lied to and let down. We live in a jaded society. It's hard to trust people. You can't take people at their word. Knowing motivations is very important. Have you ever stopped to ask yourself the question of why God got involved in saving mankind in the first place? Did he have to? Was someone forcing Him to? He was compelled and motivated out of one reason—love. He wants everyone to be saved. We're all his creation, we're all his children. He wants none to be lost.

Speaker 3:

Think about the most famous verse in the Bible, for God so loved the world. God has promised to come again, and soon and very soon this will happen. I am so looking forward to that day. I long for that day. But as much as I want Jesus to come and I don't like waiting, I must graciously admit. I must graciously admit I am so blessed and happy he waited for me.

Speaker 3:

In conclusion, god's Word is unfailing. Isaiah 55.11 assures us that every word God speaks is purposeful and effective, never returning empty. Matthew 24.35 reminds us that while everything in this world is temporary, god's Word endures forever. And 2 Peter 3.9 reveals God's patient heart longing for all to come to repentance and be saved. Together. These verses paint a picture of a God whose promises are certain, whose truths are eternal and whose love is patient and redemptive. In a world of uncertainty, we can anchor our lives in the unfailing Word of God, trusting that he will accomplish His purpose, that His truth will never fade and that His heart is always open to receive all who turn to Him. Friends, in our next episode God's Everlasting Love we will continue our look at the best of the best 88 Bible Scripture passages by looking at numbers 68, 69, and 70. In my top 101 favorite Bible verses, we'll look at Romans 5, verse 8, and Romans 8, verses 38 and 39. I hope you've enjoyed our time together and I pray you have a mighty moment with God today. Be blessed.
