These are awesome passages, though you'll want to remember. These are 88 of my personal favorite passages from the Bible my top 101 Bible verses. My top 101 Bible verses. The total list of verses is not in any particular order, but the pairings of three for each episode loosely tie together by a theme, but each verse is independently worth memorizing. Contact Mighty Moment if you'd like a copy of my best of the best list. In this episode we'll look at numbers 59, 60, and 61. On my list of my top 101 Bible verses. We'll look at Isaiah 40, 31, 2 Corinthians, 12, 9, and 2 Timothy 1, 7.

Speaker 3:

In our moments of weakness, god's strength shines brightest. This episode explores three powerful scriptures that remind us of the paradoxical nature of Christian living finding strength in our own weaknesses, power in our own vulnerability and courage in our own faith. Let's delve into God's Word and discover how he empowers us in our most challenging times. Number 59 on our list is Isaiah 40, verse 31,. Number 59 on our list is Isaiah 40, verse 31, soaring on Eagle's Wings, reading from the New King James Version but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint. The New International Version reads but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not be faint. And the New American Standard Version says Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength and they will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run and not get tired, and they will walk and not become weary. The Passion Translation reads but those who wait for Yahweh's grace will experience divine strength. They will rise up on soaring wings and fly like eagles, run their race without growing weary and walk through life without giving up. The Message Version reads the Amplified Bible reads but those who wait for the Lord, who expect, look for and man, I used to run 5k and 10k races. I have experienced and other runners will attest, especially marathon participants that you get to a place in the race where you're totally exhausted and feel like you cannot go on anymore, not even one step. But then you find your second wind, a boost of energy and determination that gets you across the finish line.

Speaker 3:

Isaiah 40.31 is a promise of renewed strength and hope for those who trust in and wait for the Lord. The verse assures that even when people feel exhausted or overwhelmed, those who place their hope in God will find their strength restored. They will be able to rise above challenges symbolized by soaring on wings like eagles and continue on their journey without becoming weary or faint. It's a promise to be sustained and that you will finish the race. The imagery of mounting up with wings like eagles evokes the idea of being lifted high above difficulties, drawing on the eagle's power and ability to soar effortlessly. This renewal is not achieved through human effort alone, but through trusting in God's power and faithfulness. Waiting on the Lord here means actively hoping and expecting God to act, remembering His past faithfulness and relying on Him rather than on your own strength.

Speaker 3:

Moving on to number 60 in our list 2 Corinthians 12.9. Reading from the New King James Version and he said to me my grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness, is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, most gladly, I will rather boast in my infirmities that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Reading from the Good News Bible. But his answer was my grace is all you need, for my power is greatest when you are weak. I am most happy then to be proud of my weaknesses in order to feel the protection of Christ's power over me and in the Passion Translation. But he answered me my grace is always more than enough for you, and my power finds its full expression through your weakness. So I will celebrate my weaknesses, for when I am weak I sense more deeply the mighty power of Christ living in me.

Speaker 3:

And the Living Bible reads Each time. He said no, but I am with you. That is all you need. My power shows up best in weak people. Now I am glad to boast about how weak I am. I am glad to be a living demonstration of Christ's power instead of showing off my own power and abilities. And lastly, in the Amplified Bible the verse reads but he said to me my grace, amplified Bible. The verse reads and shows itself most effectively in your weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses so that the power of Christ may completely enfold me and may dwell in me.

Speaker 3:

This verse is a powerful promise and counters a lie of the devil. Satan tries to whisper that you are too bad to be forgiven, your sins are too grievous, that you are unsavable. This verse clearly states that God's grace is sufficient for you, meaning that, whatever your past, that God's forgiveness, grace and cleansing can and will forgive and cleanse you completely, no matter the stain of your past. The Greek phrase is made perfect, which is used here in this verse, is in the present tense, indicating an ongoing process. This suggests that God's power is continually being perfected or fully expressed through our weaknesses. It's an ongoing process. This verse reveals that God's unmerited favor is always enough for us. His miraculous power finds its full expression precisely in our area of weakness, precisely in our area of weakness. This encourages us to embrace our limitations as opportunities for God's strength to shine through us. 2 Corinthians 12 9 presents a paradoxical truth central to the Christian faith God's power is perfected in our weakness, in our weakness. Moving on to number 61 on our list.

Speaker 3:

2 Timothy 1.7, overcoming Fear with God's Empowering Spirit. Reading from the New King James Version. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. The New International Version reads the New American Standard Version reads the Passion Translation reads the Passion translation reads the Message version reads and lastly, in the Amplified Bible, the verse reads For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but he has given us a spirit of power and of love, and of sound judgment and personal discipline, abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control.

Speaker 3:

This is one of my all-time favorite verses. The verse clearly states that if we are fearful, it is not God that is doing it. God is not the source of fear, but actually the opposite peace and calm and assurance. So when I am feeling fearful, worried or anxious, it is the devil trying to overwhelm me. What God desires for me is that I be living in His love and be empowered to face my problems through His Spirit, and that I have a calm or peaceful mind. So when I am feeling overwhelmed with fear, it really is a sense of dread that there is no solution and that I am in trouble. Understanding this verse, I stand up to fear and basically tell it to get lost, because God is with me and is going to take care of everything. I have nothing to fear because God is holding my hand and leading me through 2 Timothy 1.7 offers a powerful antidote to fear and timidity in the Christian life.

Speaker 3:

It reminds us that God has equipped us with His Spirit, which manifests as power, love and self-discipline.

Speaker 3:

In conclusion, as we reflect on Isaiah 40.31, 2 Corinthians 12.9, and 2 Timothy 1.7, we see a beautiful demonstration of God's provision for us in our times of weakness. These verses remind us that our moments of vulnerability are not obstacles to God's work, but rather opportunities for His power to shine through us. In Isaiah, we find the promise of renewed strength as we wait on the Lord. In Paul's letter to the Corinthians, we discover the paradoxical truth that God's power is perfected in our weakness. And in Timothy we are reminded of the spirit of power, love and self-discipline that God has given us to overcome fear.

Speaker 3:

Together, these passages paint a picture of the Christian life that is both challenging and deeply encouraging. They invite us to embrace our weaknesses, to wait patiently on God's timing and to step out in faith, knowing that we are equipped with His Spirit. As we face life's trials and tribulations, may we remember that our strength comes not from our own abilities, but from the inexhaustible well of God's grace. Let us, then, approach each day with confidence not in ourselves, but in the God who renews our strength, perfects our power in our weakness and empowers us with His spirit of love and self-discipline. Friends, in our next episode Restoration we will continue our look at the best of the best 88 Bible Scripture passages by looking at numbers 62, 63, and 64 in my top 101 favorite Bible verses. Favorite Bible verses We'll look at Isaiah 51, 11, ezekiel 36, verse 26, and Revelation 21, verse 4. I hope you've enjoyed our time together and I pray you have a mighty moment with God today.
