Speaker 2:Welcome to Mighty Moment, where it only takes a moment to have a mighty encounter with God. Our speaker, Dr Bobby J Bowles, is guiding us on a transformative exploration of the scriptures from Genesis to Revelation. Exploration of the scriptures from Genesis to Revelation. As he brings to life the incredible and fascinating stories of the Bible, we pray that you are encouraged and spiritually strengthened, so let's turn our hearts and minds to the Word as we prepare for today's journey of discovery. Here's Dr Bobby with today's Mighty Moment. Today's Mighty Moment.
Speaker 3:Rejoicing in the Day. In this episode of Mighty Moment we are on day 16 of our 31-day trek, exploring the best of the best scriptures from the Bible. These are tremendous passages that you'll want to memorize. These are 88 of my personal cherished passages from the Bible, my top 101 verses. We are not looking at the list in any particular order, but within each episode we dig into three specific verses and base the episode around a common idea. I encourage you to look up the verses and begin a personal memorization plan. Reach out to Mighty Moment if you'd like a copy of my best of the best list.
Speaker 3:In this episode we are halfway through our journey through our top 101 Bible verses. We'll look at Numbers 49, 50, and 51. We want to explore these three powerful scripture passages that will guide us toward a life of joy, hope and strength Psalm 118.24, which calls us to rejoice in each day. Romans 15.13, which reveals God as the source of overflowing hope. And Philippians 4.13, which promises strength through Christ for every circumstance. Number 49 in our list is Psalm 118.24, embracing Each Day as God's Gift, reading from the New King James Version. This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. The New International Version reads the Lord has done it this very day. Let us rejoice today and be glad. And the Good News Bible reads this is the day of the Lord's victory. Let us be happy, let us celebrate. The Passion Translation reads this is the very day of the Lord that brings gladness and joy, filling our hearts with glee. And the Message version reads this is the very day God acted. Let's celebrate and be festive. And finally, in the clear word paraphrase, this verse reminds us that who defeated our enemies and set us free? This is His victory. So let's rejoice and celebrate. This verse reminds us that every day is an opportunity that God gives us. Life is a cherished gift. The breath I just took was a gift from God. Every person on earth is given the same amount of time each day. It's the great equalizer.
Speaker 3:When we wake up, we have a decision to make. What kind of day will I have today? Or, more significantly, what will my disposition and attitude today be, despite what is thrown at me or what I have to walk through? What will I do with my time given to me today? While we can't control what happens around us in our environment, nor what happens to us in our personal interactions, we can make a decision that, whatever happens today, I will choose to be positive. I will choose to be a witness to the Lord that gave me this day. I will look for opportunities to be a light in a dark world. I will look for the silver lining. I will give God glory, even in trying times. I'll remind myself that the troubles of this world are a result of sin and that my God, my Creator, my Redeemer, is with me in the midst of the day and he is my hope and salvation. I will rejoice because God's hand is upon me and I am His. I will be glad because God has already won and I have a blessed hope in Jesus Christ. I will rejoice and be glad because I know with confidence that nothing I encounter today will change God's love for me, remove His presence from me, nor change my destiny with Him, nor change my destiny with Him.
Speaker 3:A pastor once shared a powerful moment with his son. After a year of meaningful connection, the time came for each to go to their own home. During their final moments together, the son looked at his father, half smiling, half crying, and couldn't form words. Finally, he managed to say Dad, can you believe how amazing our God is. In that ordinary moment, not on a mountain peak or in a hot air balloon, they embraced fully, treasuring the present, they realized the most powerful moments aren't always grand events, but often simple conversations with loved ones fully engaged in the moment God has created.
Speaker 3:Number 50 on our list is Romans 15.13, overflowing with Divine Hope. Reading from the New King James Version. Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit In the New International Version. And the Good of hope fill you with all joy and peace by means of your faith in Him, so that your hope will continue to grow by the power of the Holy Spirit. And the Passion Translation. Now may God, the fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in Him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with His superabundance until you radiate with hope. And finally, in the Living Bible, that God will keep you happy and full of peace as you believe in Him.
Speaker 3:Hope how does having this hope the verse talks about, give us joy and peace. God's hope gives us joy because we know the future, and the future is bright. Soon and very soon, he will return to take us to heaven. With Him, and the troubles of this sinful world will be over. God's hope, his blessed hope, gives us joy because soon, and very soon, we will be remade inside and out. Soon and very soon, we'll be reunited with our loved ones who have died. Soon and very soon we will see the face of Jesus. God's hope brings confidence and joy because nothing can change my destiny, your destiny with God. How can? God's hope brings confidence and joy because nothing can change my destiny, your destiny with God. How can God's hope give us peace?
Speaker 3:I don't need to worry. I don't need to be worried about anything, nor anyone. No one, no power, no thing can snatch salvation from me or separate me from my friend and Savior, jesus Christ. No enemy against me will stand in the power of Jesus. No weapon yielded against me will be effective, no plan to harm me will be successful. I can have peace in God's hope because nothing can spiritually harm me, nor can anything affect my future with God. This world is not my home. I am just passing through. God's power is on our side. The Holy Spirit is an ever-present help and comfort. In times of trouble. We are never alone. We are never in a desperate situation. Never alone. We are never in a desperate situation. We are victors in Christ. So I can have joy and peace in His hope.
Speaker 3:Number 51 on our list is Philippians 4.13. Strengthen for every circumstance. Reading from the New King James Version I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me Version I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. The New International Version reads I can do all this through Him who gives me strength. The Good News Bible reads I have the strength to face all conditions by the power that Christ gives me. The Passion Translation reads and I find that the strength of Christ's explosive power infuses me to conquer every difficulty. And the message version Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything. In the one who makes me who I am, the Living Bible, for I can do everything God asks me to do with the help of Christ who gives me the strength and the power. And finally, in the Amplified Bible I can do all things which he has called me to do through Him who strengthens and empowers me to fulfill His purpose. I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency. I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him, who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.
Speaker 3:Besides John 3.16, this may perhaps be the most popular verse in the Bible or certainly one of the most quoted. We've addressed verses like this one before In context. This verse is, in fact, incredible. No doubt the Living Bible paraphrase really gets the nuance of understanding when it says For I can do anything God asks me to do. In other words, god is empowering us to live a godly life. He's not giving us a magical potion to go and sin. God is not going to help you sin, feed selfish desires or do harmful behavior. He is strengthening us beyond our human strength to fight spiritual battles and do things that are difficult in our own strength, like fight temptation or love the unlovely, or do without my selfish desires. Or love the unlovely or do without my selfish desires. God would never ask us to do something that was impossible to do. So, along with the instruction, he also empowers us. We are not promised victory in our own strength, but given victory in the power of Jesus Christ. With this powerful promise, we can be encouraged that, despite the storm, god is going to get us through. In conclusion, these three passages blend together a beautiful mosaic of Christian living.
Speaker 3:Psalm 118.24 calls us to recognize and rejoice in each day as God's intentional creation.
Speaker 3:Romans 15.13 reveals that the God who created each day desires to fill us completely with joy, peace and overflowing hope through the Holy Spirit's power. And Philippians 4.13 completes the picture by promising Christ's strength for whatever circumstances each God-made day may bring. Together, these verses form a powerful progression. We acknowledge each day as God's gift. We receive His filling of joy and peace as we trust Him, and we access Christ's strength to face any circumstance with contentment. This is the essence of rejoicing in the day not a superficial happiness dependent on favorable conditions, but a deep, abiding joy rooted in recognizing God's sovereignty over each day, experiencing His indwelling power and resting in Christ's sufficient strength. May we live each day in the light of these transformative truths. Friends, in our next episode, divine Wisdom, we will continue our look at the best of the best 88 Bible Scripture passages by looking at numbers 52, 53, and 54 in our top 101 favorite verses. We'll look at Proverbs 2.6, james 1.5, and James 4.7. I hope you've enjoyed our time together and I pray you have a mighty moment with God today. Be blessed.
