Here's Dr Bobby with today's Mighty Moment.

Speaker 3:

Divine Guidance. In this episode of Mighty Moment we continue our 31-day journey looking at the best of the best scriptures from the Bible. These are awesome passages that you'll want to remember. These are 88 of my personal favorite passages from the Bible my top 101 verses. The total list of verses is not in any particular order, but the pairings of three for each episode loosely tie together around a theme, but each verse is independently worth memorizing. Contact Mighty Moment if you'd like a copy of my best of the best list.

Speaker 3:

God's guidance is not a luxury but a necessity for the believer as we journey through life's complexities. These three passages Psalm 32, verse 8, psalm 119, verse 105, and Isaiah 30, verse 21, reveal God's comprehensive approach to directing our paths with personal instruction, illuminating truth and moment-by-moment direction. Number 26 in our list of the top 101 Bible verses is Psalm 32, verse 8, the Shepherd's Watchful Eye. In the New King James Version we read I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go. I will guide you with my eye. The New International Version, the New American Standard Version and the message version. Let me give you some good advice. I'm looking you in the eye and giving it to you straight and in the Living Bible I will instruct you, says the Lord, and guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch your progress. The verse says I will instruct you, I will advise you and watch your progress. The verse says I will instruct you, I will guide you. God is making the promise Himself and he will be personally involved. It is God who will be doing the guiding. There are two dynamics here instruction and teaching, which is information. But guidance is more personal, a personal leading. God is going before us. He will always show us the best path for us, the one we should go down. He stays connected watching, observing, following. We are never alone. We are never abandoned. Following we are never alone. We are never abandoned. He doesn't dump and run. He doesn't advise and come back later to see how things are going. He is actively involved and maintains connection.

Speaker 3:

The Hebrew text of Psalm 32.8 reveals beautiful shades of insight that expand our understanding of God's direction. The word translated as instruct is from the Hebrew word sakal, which means to make wise, give insight or cause to consider. This isn't merely about giving directions, but imparting wisdom and understanding. The phrase guide you with my eye in Hebrew literally reads I will counsel thee. My eye shall be upon thee. This presents the image of a God who doesn't merely point the way but watches over us, like a mother hen looking over her chicks as we walk. God desires to guide us with the softest and gentlest hand, but gives us direction and communicates His will clearly.

Speaker 3:

The contrast is provided in verse 9 of the same chapter, psalm 32, which offers a powerful example Do not be like the horse or like the mule, which have no understanding, which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, else they will not come near you. You see, god doesn't force us along His path, but guides us with His loving eye, ever-present, ever-attentive, ready to provide counsel at the perfect moment. Unlike animals that require physical restraint and force to be guided, god invites us to a higher form of direction. As we mature spiritually, we become increasingly sensitive to His gentle guidance. Rather than requiring the bit and bridle of difficult circumstances to redirect us, god desires this level of responsive relationship with us, not forcing us through difficult circumstances but guiding us through His gentle presence and wisdom.

Speaker 3:

Number 27 in our list is Psalm 119, 105, the Illuminating Word In the New King James Version we read, in the New International Version and in the Message Version and, lastly, the Living Bible. Your words are a flashlight to light the path ahead of me and keep me from stumbling. Firstly, this verse implicitly implies that God's Word is sufficient. The truth is out there, commissioned. The truth is out there. Answers do exist, instruction is available. God does not leave His children in the dark. His Word exists and is available for our instruction. But are we using it? If we do not use God's Word, it's as good as a flashlight in the drawer or turned off. It as a flashlight in the drawer or turned off. Is your Bible activated? Consider the dual nature of God's Word. It shows us our immediate steps, our next decisions, a light for our feet, but also a light for our path, indicating keeping us on track to our destination. You see, it is possible to be very sure-footed, but be going in a circle. God wants us not only heading the right way, but is concerned about each step that we take.

Speaker 3:

During the 2018 Thai cave rescue, 12 boys and their soccer coach were trapped deep within a flooded cave system. The rescue divers faced impossible darkness. Each diver carried two critical light sources a helmet-mounted lamp to illuminate the immediate water in front of them showing dangerous obstacles, and larger lights to help maintain overall orientation within the cave system. Without both, the rescue would have been impossible. The divers needed to see both their immediate surroundings and maintain their sense of direction.

Speaker 3:

Psalm 119.105 presents this same dual illumination which is provided by God's Word both immediate guidance for our next steps, lamp to my feet and broader direction for life's journey. Light to my path. This comprehensive illumination is essential in a world of moral and spiritual darkness. Unlike physical light that merely reveals what already exists, god's Word creates understanding, transforms perspective and establishes truth in our hearts. The next verse on our list is Isaiah 30, verse 21, the directional voice.

Speaker 3:

In the New King James Version we read your ears will hear a word behind you saying this is the way. Walk in it. Whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left, and the New International Version reads Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying this is the way. Walk in it. And in the Living Bible, and if you leave God's paths and go astray, you will hear a voice behind you say no, this steps of faith we consider. Study, pray then, after founding our decisions on God's Word. We make a decision and move forward. God's people are not to be paralyzed with analysis, but moving forward in action. If we innocently head the wrong way, god is big enough to get involved and God will correct. I want to have the faith of Abraham. When God told him it was time to move, he began walking, not knowing where he was going. Abraham knew to follow the instructions as God gave them and that the Lord would instruct him as he needed to know more.

Speaker 3:

The Hebrew concept of the way, derek, refers not to just a physical path but to a manner of living, a life direction. The phrase behind you suggests God's voice often comes as confirmation rather than merely initial direction. He speaks to affirm and correct our course. The imperative walk in it, halach, indicates continuous action, not a one-time decision, but ongoing forward movement. The phrase whether you turn to the right or to the left, whether you turn to the right or to the left, encompasses all our decisions and potential deviations. God's guidance covers every possible direction we might consider.

Speaker 3:

Isaiah 30.21 reveals the moment-by-moment nature of God's guidance, a voice that speaks into our active journey, confirming or correcting our direction as needed. Unlike a pre-programmed GPS that only recites directions. God's guidance is dynamic and responsive, addressing our specific situation at the exact moment guidance is needed. The verse also reveals God's comprehensive guidance, whether you turn to the right or to the left, covering every possible direction or decision we might face. In conclusion, these three passages Psalm 32.8, psalm 119.105, and Isaiah 30.21, provide a comprehensive picture of God's guidance in our lives, from the personal oversight of God's watchful eye to the dual illumination of His written Word, to the moment-by-moment direction of His voice.

Speaker 3:

God has not left any aspect of our journey without guidance.

Speaker 3:

Like a master navigator, he provides both the compass that shows our general direction and the detailed map that reveals each step along the way.

Speaker 3:

The beauty of God's guidance is that it addresses our complete journey, our immediate decisions, our life direction and our eternal destination. It is both personal and practical, both strategic and tactical. When we walk with the God who instructs us with His eye, illuminating our path with His Word and speaking direction into our decisions, we discover not just the right way to go, but the joy and peace that comes from walking in harmonious relationship with our Creator. No matter how complex life becomes or how difficult the terrain ahead appears, we can move forward with confidence, knowing that divine guidance surrounds us at every step. Friends, in our next episode, god's Goodness, we will continue our look at the best of the best 88 Bible Scripture passages by looking at numbers 29, 30, and 31 in my top 101 favorite verses. We'll be looking at Psalm 34, verse 8, psalm 86, verse 5, and 1 Peter 5, verse 7. I hope you've enjoyed our time together and I pray you have a mighty moment with God today. Be blessed.
