TITLE: “P.L.E.A.S.E” (1:07)

ADDRESSING BLESSING BLINDNES (1:12)

Please, P-L-E-A-S-E. In the previous Mighty Moment episode, episode 12 of season 1, we talked about a concept I call blessing blindness, which is when we fail to see the many blessings God gives us. These reminders of His blessings are all around us, but we often overlook them. Today we continue that discussion by addressing what we can do to avoid, prevent and heal blessing blindness. Using the acronym PLEASE, P-L-E-A-S-E, we can learn how to address blessing blindness and learn how to notice, appreciate and enjoy the blessings of God in our life. I'll also give a scripture for each step. 

The "P" in P.L.E.A.S.E. (1:56)

The “P” in please stands for prayer. Pray to see the blessings in your life. Ask the Lord to open your eyes to see those hidden items all around you so that you can be thankful for them. Jeremiah 33:3 says, “Call to me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you did not know.”

The "L" in P.L.E.A.S.E. (2:18)

The “L” in please stands for look. Look for the blessings in your life, Pursue them. Be intentional about looking for the blessings every day. Psalm 119, verse 18, says, “Open my eyes that I may see wondrous things.”

The FIRST "E" in P.L.E.A.S.E. (2:37)

The “E” in please stands for enjoy. Enjoy the blessings in your life, Partake of them. Take time to relish the blessings when you notice them, Taste and enjoy them. Pause and smell the roses. Psalm 118, verse 24, says, “This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.”

The "A" in P.L.E.A.S.E. (3:01)

The “A” in please stands for appreciate. Appreciate the blessings in your life, Praise the Lord. Beyond enjoying the blessings yourself, take a moment to thank God for giving them to you. 2nd Corinthians 10:17-18 says, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.”

The "S" in P.L.E.A.S.E. (3:23)

The “S” in please stands for share. Share the blessings in your life with others. Pass them along. Don't be selfish with your blessings, but share them with others by letting others enjoy them as well. The blessing grows by sharing. Once you learn how to see the blessings yourself, once you become a natural at noticing God's gems and seeing the silver lining, teach others how to do it. Acts 20, verse 35 says, “And remember the words of the Lord Jesus that he said it is more blessed to give than to receive.”

The LAST "E" in P.L.E.A.S.E. (4:01)

The “E” in please stands for exercise. Exercise the process, Repeat the above process and get better and better at it. The more you practice, the more this will become a natural and instinctual thing to do. Philippians 4:4 says, “Rejoice in the Lord. Always and again I say rejoice.”

OPEN YOUR EYES (4:24)

So, friends, ask the Lord to open your eyes to see the blessings in your life and savor those blessings. Thank God for blessing you. And share the blessings in your life with others. Do this every day and repeat this process again and again. I invite you to search for the blessings that are all around you, P.L.E.A.S.E.
