LITTLE SAMMY (1:07)

Celebrating the common. Little Sammy, only two years old, did a water bottle flip successfully, and her spontaneous and exuberant reaction is so precious. She throws her hands up in the air in surprising victory with a great big smile and shocked expression on her face, while everyone around her is cheering ecstatically. The video of her joy and excitement went viral and she even ended up on the Ellen DeGeneres show all because of a bottle flip.

CELEBRATE MOMENTS (1:37)

Somehow, when we get older, we seem to be less spontaneous with celebrating. Oh, we remember the big things, like birthdays and anniversaries and Christmas and the like, but we stop celebrating the small things. Often, when we do celebrate, our joyous occasions can seem scripted or just going through the motions. Perhaps we should be more free or spontaneous with our joy, rather than keeping it contained and scheduled. Do we celebrate the daily moments? Do we rejoice at the small things? Do we smile at the sweet unexpecteds? Do we understand that living in the moment does not need to be planned or photographed or even posted online? When we live in the moment and live, looking to celebrate, life itself is a celebration. We don't need to wait to celebrate or schedule to celebrate, but can find moments within every day to do so.

it’s a CHOICE (2:35)

There are several poignant scriptures that come to mind regarding living in the moment. The first one is Psalm 118:24. It says, “This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” It doesn't say might or should, but it says we will rejoice and be glad in it when you get up in the morning. Choose to have a great day, to rejoice and to celebrate, no matter what the day brings. Joy is a decision. While we can't control what exactly the day is going to bring, we can control our attitude and emotions within the day.

REJOICE (3:19)

Another scripture, Philippians 4:4, says “Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice.” Don't get tired of celebrating. Smile and then be ready to smile again. Enjoy the moment and then look forward to the next joy the Lord is going to bring you. Seek the silver lining in life and change your attitude from complainer to celebrator. John 15: 11 says that God desires that His joy remain in us and that we be full of joy.

CELEBRATION METER (3:57)

Let me ask you a question and be honest. If you were to determine how much you celebrate versus how much you complain, which would win? Make your celebration percentage meter be more than your complaint percentage, with your goal to eliminate complaining altogether. You know, in some circles in the Christian community celebration is a taboo word, but, on the contrary, I believe Christians have so much to celebrate. Look for, seek out the blessings and the happy moments.

CBE THANKFUL (4:33)

Thank God for his daily goodness, blessings and awesomeness. Look for the good throughout the day and in people to celebrate. Live a joy-filled life today. Choose to smile. Seek for the incredible in the mundane. This moment is a gift, so decide to enjoy it and look for and relish the unexpected and celebrate them.
