MY GIRL (1:02)

So quite a few years ago when my boys were young... we were watching "My girl" with Macaulay Culkin. Near the end of the movie the little boy stirs up a bunch of hornets. The tension is high and I see the anxiety in my boys' eyes but especially in my youngest son (4 years old at the time). As the hornets are stinging the little boy and he is trying to run away my son yells, "Oh no! The bees are going to make honey out of him!". Needless to say it brought levity to the rest of us at an especially sad part of the movie.

IRRATIONAL FEARS (1:47)

It reminded me that often our fears are often not rational. Rational or not our fears often consume us. They paralyze us. They consume our energy and our joy. Now granted hornets are nothing to play with but my son’s false assumption that the danger was that the "bees" were going to make honey out of the little boy brought to memory that most of our fears and things we worry about don't ever actually happen.

2 TIMOTHY 1:7 (2:18)

In the Bible there is a wonderful verse that reminds us what God's desire is for us. He wants us to prosper, have peace and be full of joy. Paralyzing fear is not from Him! 2nd Timothy 1:7 says "For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and sound mind"

FREE FROM FEAR (2:46)

I pray each of us can be freed from our fears (real or not) (rational or not) so we may experience the power, love and sound mind God desires we experience. Allow Him to free you from fear!
