HOW LONG? (1:02)

How long do you have left to live? 50 years, 25 years, 5 months, 2 weeks, 10 minutes. Not knowing exactly when we will die makes answering the next question even harder. What will be your last act before you die? Will your last act be an act of kindness or an act of selfishness? Will it be something worthy of remembering or one better forgotten?

OFFICER JEREMY HENWOOD (1:34)

Officer Jeremy Henwood's final act was captured by a surveillance camera at a local McDonald's when he bought food for a young boy, a stranger. He encouraged the young man to work hard on his dream of one day being a professional basketball player. It would only be three minutes later that Officer Henwood would be gunned down and killed sitting in his patrol car.

SUMMING UP HIS LIFE (2:00)

Henwood was a decorated Marine veteran who served two tours in Iraq. He was a respected police officer and a loved part of his community. However, it was not his medals, commendations or career that he would be remembered for. It would be the last thing he ever did. That would sum up his life. Thousands attended his funeral. That would sum up his life. Thousands attended his funeral. The crowds were moved, not merely because he had been a decorated veteran or the fact that he was a fine policeman. The throngs were attracted to a man's act of kindness, he would be known for his final act that he didn't even know anyone would ever see. Of course, little did he know it would be his final act. Little did he know his act of generosity to that young boy was caught on video. Little did he know that his generosity and encouraging words would change a boy's life and inspire him to live right. Officer Henwood was just living his life in an honorable, kind way, his normal way and, when the time came, his final act. Well, it ended up reflecting his true character, an honorable character.

THE GOLDEN RULE (3:20)

He seemed to truly internalize the principle of the golden rule do unto others as you would have them do unto you (Matthew 7:12). May we live as though every moment is our last.

AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST (3:37)

The Bible calls Christians ambassadors for Christ, 2 Corinthians 5:20. An ambassador does not just represent his country when in the office or while at the embassy. The ambassador represents his country and the president 24 hours a day, seven days a week. He is never off duty. He does not just represent when he thinks the media is watching.

LIVING LIFE WORTH REMEMBERING (4:04)

Living a life worth remembering is a great goal. May our lives and our actions stand for something, even by our last act, whenever that is. May they know we stood for something greater. Live every moment like it matters. Live every moment like it's your last.
